Significado en español: es la parte de la memoria de un ordenador en la que almacena la información básica para arrancar y funcionar. Ésta no se borra al apagar el equipo. Viene grabada de fábrica, y no se puede modificar. Las siglas responden a "Read Only Memory" (memoria de sólo lectura).
